A small step toward using AI

Choose what you would actually do, rather than what sounds impressive. “Not sure” is a useful starting point. There is no timer.

What is an AI literacy test?

An AI literacy test samples how you understand, use, and evaluate AI. This free quiz focuses on everyday judgment: choosing a suitable task, giving clear instructions, checking an answer, and protecting information. You can take it even if you have never used an AI tool. No coding or paid subscription is needed.

Looking for a generative AI literacy assessment test? This one is a starting point for learning, rather than a hiring assessment or a validated measurement of professional ability. Your result reflects the choices you make here, including your reported experience. It does not compare you with the population.

Five habits, one starting point

Awareness: choosing suitable tasks. Adoption: your experience using AI. Prompting: giving clear instructions. Verification: checking outputs against evidence. Safety: protecting people and information.

The quiz combines 8 scenarios, 4 questions about your experience, and 3 safety questions. Each answer adds 0–3 points across the relevant dimensions, for a total of 0–45. Dimension percentages compare your points with the points available in this quiz. The labels are playful guides, not qualifications or population rankings.

Practice the kind of judgment that matters

Imagine an assistant rewrites your club invitation and changes Saturday to Sunday. The useful habit is to compare the draft with your original notes before sending it. A confident tone does not establish accuracy. This example illustrates the learning goal; it is not an additional scored question.

How to use your result

  1. Answer for your current experience and judgment. There is no timer.
  2. Review the five dimensions instead of treating the overall label as a permanent identity.
  3. Choose one suggested learning step and practice it on a low-risk task.
  4. Try again later to reflect on your habits; a score change alone does not prove real-world improvement.

What does my result mean?

What if I do not know an answer?

Choose the option that best reflects your current experience or judgment. Not sure is a useful starting point. There are no penalties beyond the points associated with each option, and you can review practical tips afterward.
